Frank Fagundes is the Founder & Sales Manager of Jackie Loves Baking Co.
Before the conception of Jackie Loves Baking, Frank was surrounded by gourmet sandwiches and top-notch service.
Frank was the founder of the successful sandwich chain, Mr. Pickles Sandwich Shop.
He opened his first shop in San Mateo, CA in 1994, not long after opening, sales were booming and it was getting harder to keep up with the demand. By year two he had trouble keeping up with his bread needs. He found that some days the truck was late, other days it was light inventory, but mostly it was hard to get the quality he needed, consistently.
After discovering a brand of light baked bread (also known as parbaked), he decided that was the right way to go. What he found was light bread gave the business and himself better control of what mattered and cut out the reliance on the delivery man’s inventory or the consistency issues that could make or break his day. He was able to have fresh baked bread on hand to control his quality and sales.
The brand grew strong and after building 62 shops and selling over 3 million sandwiches a year, Frank decided to sell his life’s work.He knew parbaked bread is the next big thing and he is taking the idea national. Frank is bringing Jackie Loves Baking Co. and their parbaked bread across the west coast, spreading the word about all the benefits it brings.
